  • VEHICLE SHIFTS TO PARK BELOW 8 KM/H (5 MPH) AND/OR WRENCH LIGHT WITH DTC P081F

2013-2014 MKZ

ISSUE:

Some 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ vehicles may shift to park when the vehicle is traveling below 8 Km/h (5 MPH) and/or may exhibit a wrench light illuminated with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P081F stored in the gear shift module (GSM).

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) and the gear shift module (GSM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 86.03 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.

The push button shift transmission has unique operating characteristics including an automatic return to park feature. Please refer the customer to the Owner's Manual, transmission section for expected system operation.

Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage
Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
