  • VARIOUS DRIVABILITY SYMPTOMS - CRANK-NO START - DTC U0109 - BUILT ON OR BEFORE 3/6/2013

2013 MKZ

ISSUE:

Some 2013 MKZ vehicles built on or before 3/6/2013 may exhibit various drivability symptoms including a crank no start with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0109 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM).

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Remove the left hand (LH) C-pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-05.
  2. Remove G304 fastener and discard. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Section 10-1. (Figure 1)
  3. Install new fastener. Torque to 12 N-m (9 lb-ft).
  4. Install LH C-pillar lower trim panel. Refer to WSM, Section 501-05.
  5. Clear DTCs.
