Before using your vehicle on a track, check the engine oil level. See
Engine Oil Check.
Maintain the engine oil level at or near the maximum mark on the engine oil dipstick when using your vehicle on a track.
Launch Control
The system changes the chassis and powertrain settings to deliver fast acceleration when you pull away from a standstill. The system does not operate when the transmission is in reverse or if the engine has not reached normal operating temperature.
Switching Launch Control On
- Bring your vehicle to a complete standstill with the wheels pointing straight ahead.
Note:
Make sure that there are no objects or traffic in front of your vehicle.
- Using the information display controls on the steering wheel, select MyView.
- Select FORD PERFORMANCE.
- Select Launch Control.
Note:
The launch control indicator appears in the information display.
Note:
The system remains on until you switch the ignition off or shift into reverse.
- Fully press the clutch pedal and shift into first gear.
- Fully press the accelerator pedal.
Note:
The system limits the engine to the optimum speed.
- Quickly and fully release the clutch pedal in a single movement.
