WARNING:
Accessory seat covers not released by Ford Motor Company could prevent the seatbelt from retracting correctly. This could cause the seatbelt to become slack which could increase the risk of injuries in a crash.
WARNING:
Make sure that the seatbelts are securely stowed away when not in use and not outside your vehicle when closing the doors. |
The retractor for the rear center seatbelt is located in the roof.
To fasten the seatbelt:
- Pull the seatbelt out steadily.
Note:
It may lock if you pull it sharply or if your vehicle is on a slope.
- Insert the smaller tongue into the black buckle to the left of the center seat.
- Pull the larger tongue across the lap and insert it into the buckle to the right of the center seat.
- Pull the seatbelt tight to remove any slack.
Note:
If in constant use, you can leave the seatbelt buckled in the black buckle. When it is not in use, or when you fold or move the rear seats, you should release the seatbelt from the black buckle.
Note:
The rear outer seatbelts can lock if you return the seatback from a folded position to the upright position forcefully. Should the seatbelt lock, recline the seat using the recline adjustment. See
Rear Seats.
Using Seatbelts During Pregnancy
WARNING:
Position the seatbelt correctly for your safety and that of your unborn child. Do not use only the lap strap or the shoulder strap. |
Pregnant women should always wear their seatbelt. The lap belt portion of a combination lap and shoulder belt should be positioned low across the hips below the belly and worn as tight as comfort will allow. The shoulder belt portion of a combination lap and shoulder belt should be positioned to cross the middle of the shoulder and the center of the chest.
