Service Position
Set the windshield wipers in the service position to change the wiper blades.
Note:
You can use the service position to provide easier access to the wiper blades for freeing them from snow and ice.
Note:
Make sure the windshield is free from snow and ice before you switch the ignition on.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Manually move the wiper arms to the service position.
Note:
Do not hold the wiper blade when moving the wiper arm to the service position.
The windshield wipers return to the starting position when you switch the ignition on.
Note:
Do not rotate the wiper arms with ignition on.
Changing the Windshield Wiper Blades
- Manually move the wiper arms to the service position.
- Lift the wiper arm.
Note:
Do not hold the wiper blade to lift the wiper arm.
Note:
Make sure that the wiper arm does not spring back against the glass when the wiper blade is not attached.
- Remove the washer hose.
- Press the wiper blade locking clip.
- Remove the wiper blade.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Note:
Make sure that the wiper blade locks into place.
- Make sure that the hose is firmly attached.
