Power Door Locks
The power door lock control is on the driver and front passenger door panels.

Door Lock Indicator
An LED on the power door lock control illuminates when you lock the door.
Door Lock Switch Inhibitor
The power door lock switch no longer operates after 20 seconds. You must unlock your vehicle with the remote control, or switch the ignition on to restore function to these switches.
Remote Control
You can use the remote control at any time your vehicle is not running. See
Remote Control.
Unlocking the Doors
Press the button to unlock all doors.The direction indicators flash.
Note:
You can unlock the driver's door with the key. Use the key when the remote control is not functioning.
Note:
When you leave your vehicle locked for several weeks, the remote control turns off. Your vehicle must be unlocked with the key and started. Unlocking and starting your vehicle enables the remote control.
Reprogramming the Unlocking Function
You can reprogram the unlocking function so that only the driver door is unlocked.
Locking the Doors
Press the button to lock all the doors.The direction indicators flash.
Note:
If any door or the luggage compartment is not closed, or if the hood is not closed on vehicles that have an anti-theft alarm or remote start, the direction indicators do not flash.
Mislock (If Equipped)
The horn sounds twice and the direction indicators do not flash:
- If any door or the luggage compartment is open.
- If the hood is open on vehicles with an anti-theft alarm or remote start.
Autolock (If Equipped)
Autolock locks all the doors when:
- All doors are closed.
- The ignition is on.
- You shift into any gear putting your vehicle in motion.
- Your vehicle reaches a speed greater than
20 km/h.
Autolock repeats when:
- You open then close any door when the ignition is on and your vehicle speed is
15 km/h or lower.
- Your vehicle reaches a speed greater than
20 km/h.
Enabling or Disabling Autolock
You can enable or disable the autolock feature in the information display or an authorized dealer can do it for you. See
General Information.
Autounlock
Autounlock unlocks all the doors when:
- Your vehicle comes to a stop and you switch the ignition off or to the accessory position.
- You open the driver door within 10 minutes of switching the ignition off or to accessory.
Note:
The doors do not autounlock if you electronically lock your vehicle after you switch the ignition off and before you open the driver door.

You can enable or disable the autounlock feature in the information display or an authorized dealer can do it for you. See

Locking and Unlocking the Doors with the Key
Locking with the Key
Turn the top of the key toward the front of your vehicle.
Unlocking with the Key
Turn the top of the key toward the rear of your vehicle.
Note:
If the child safety locks are on and you pull the interior handle, you only turn off the emergency locking, not the child safety lock.You can only open the doors using the external door handle.
Locking and Unlocking the Doors with the Key - Vehicles with Central Locking
Locking
If the central locking function fails to operate, lock the doors individually by inserting the key into the exterior door handle key slot and rotating it.
Left-Hand Side
Turn clockwise to lock.
Right-Hand Side
Turn counterclockwise to lock.
Unlocking
If the central locking function fails to operate, unlock the driver door and then unlock all other doors individually by pulling the interior door handles.
Note:
If you unlock the doors using this method, you must lock the doors individually until you have the central locking function repaired.
Opening the Luggage Compartment
Note:
If the liftgate has been opened using the key after the vehicle has been locked, do not leave the key inside the vehicle and close the liftgate as the key will be locked inside.
With the Remote Control
Press the button twice within three seconds. | |
From Outside Your Vehicle
Press the release button below the license plate when you unlock your vehicle to unlatch the liftgate. If you have a passive key within
1 m of the liftgate, press the release button to unlatch the liftgate when you lock or unlock your vehicle.
