Movement In Lane With BlueCruise Feature And/Or Lane Centering Active

2022-2023 F-150 Lightning

Issue: Some 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles equipped with BlueCruise and/or Lane Centering may exhibit the vehicle moving left and right within the vehicle's lane with the BlueCruise feature and/or Lane Centering active. This may be due to the software in the power steering control module (PSCM). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PSCM.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:

• 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning

• Equipped with BlueCruise and/or Lane Centering

• Vehicle moving left and right within the vehicle's lane with the BlueCruise feature and/or Lane Centering active

Warranty Status: Eligible under provisions of New Vehicle Limited Warranty (NVLW)/Service Part Warranty (SPW)/Special Service Part (SSP)/Extended Service Plan (ESP) coverage. Limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. NVLW/SPW/SSP/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.

Service Procedure

1. Reprogram the PSCM using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS).

2. Perform a road test bringing the vehicle to highway speed, ideally 70 mph (113 km/h), with the BlueCruise feature and/or Lane Centering active and determine if the concern is still present.

3. Is the vehicle still moving left and right within the vehicle's lane with the BlueCruise and/or feature and/or Lane Centering active?

(1). Yes - determine potential source of noise, vibration and harshness causing concern using normal diagnostics outside of this article. Refer to Workshop Manual Section (WSM) Section 204-04A, Diagnosis and Testing, Wheels and Tires.

(2). No - repair is complete.
